Yo-Yo Trick Tally: Statistics

Practice three tricks, keep score like a scientist, and turn your results into math!

Name: ______________________________Date: ____________

How to do it

  1. Pick a trick (try the Sleeper, Forward Pass, or Walk the Dog).
  2. Attempt the trick 20 times. Each time you land it, make a tally mark (❚❚❚❚ ❚) in the box.
  3. Count your tally marks and fill in the rest of the row.
Example: You try the Sleeper 20 times and land it 12 times.
Success rate = 12 out of 20 = 12/20 = 3/5 (simplified) = 60%

Shade one box for each trick you landed (out of 20). The numbers 1–10 are practice rounds — label them with your trick names if you like.

Think about it

1. You land the Sleeper 15 out of 20 tries. What percent is that?
2. You land the Forward Pass 8 out of 20 tries. Write the success rate as a fraction in simplest form.
3. Your friend lands Walk the Dog 19 out of 20 tries. What percent is that?
