FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Got a question? It's probably answered below. If not, email us.
Joining
Who can join?
Kids ages 7 to 14. No experience needed.
When and where do you meet?
Every Wednesday, 4–5 PM. We meet at Oak Hill Library, Oak Hill, VA.
How much does it cost?
The club is free, and loaner yo-yos are provided.
Do we need to sign up?
Email hello@example.org to sign up. We'll send a short permission form for a parent or guardian to fill out.
Sessions
Does my child need a yo-yo?
We provide loaner yo-yos and string at every session.
Do parents need to stay?
Parents and guardians are always welcome. Kids must be dropped off and picked up by a parent, guardian, or someone they've approved in writing.
Is it safe?
Yes. We teach yo-yo safety first: give each other room, check strings, and never swing a yo-yo near someone's face. At least two screened adults are at every session.
My child is shy or has never tried a yo-yo. Is that okay?
Absolutely. Most kids start with zero tricks. We go at each kid's pace.
Helping Out
Can I volunteer?
Yes, please. Email hello@example.org. We need adult helpers, and you don't need any yo-yo skills.
Can I start a program like this at my school or library?
Yes! Get inexpensive take-apart yo-yos (responsive and unresponsive), lots of spare string, and a few trained helpers. Meet at the same time and place every week. Email us and we'll share what worked for us.
