When and where do you meet?
Every 2nd Saturday, 1–4 PM. We meet at Springfield Public Library, 100 Main St, Springfield IL. Come and go anytime during the meetup.
Do I need to RSVP?
No. Just show up. If a meetup is ever cancelled, we post it on this site and our social media as early as we can.
What should I bring?
Nothing. We have loaner yo-yos at every meetup, so you don't need to bring anything. Wear comfortable clothes you can move in.
Can kids come?
Yes! All ages are welcome. Younger kids should come with a parent or guardian, especially the first time.
Is there parking?
Yes. Free parking behind the library.
Getting Started
Do I need to know how to yo-yo?
No. Total beginners are just as welcome as experienced players. We'll help you with your first throw.
What yo-yo should I buy?
Ask at a meetup! Our members can recommend one for your budget and style, and you can try a few first. A responsive yo-yo is the best place to start.
Is it cheating to learn on an unresponsive yo-yo?
No. A landed trick is a landed trick. Classic tricks are worth learning on a responsive yo-yo too, but there's no wrong way to play.
