Who can join Pack 1125?

Youth in kindergarten through 5th grade — boys and girls are both welcome. We serve families at Covington-Harper, Swans Creek, Triangle, and Leesylvania Elementary Schools in Dumfries, Virginia.

When and where do you meet?

Pack meetings are the 1st Thursday of each month and den meetings are the 3rd Thursday, both 6:30–7:30 PM in the Covington-Harper Elementary School auditorium, Dumfries VA. Regular meetings run October through January. The venue may change as the pack grows, so check the calendar before heading out.

Can we visit before we join?

Yes. Come to any Thursday meeting and see what we're about — just show up, or email admin@pack1125.org first and we'll watch for you.

How much does it cost?

Pack 1125 dues for this year are $100. On top of that, Scouting America registration is $85, and the NCAC participation fee is $80 for first-year Cub Scouts. Adult registration is a reduced $65.

Is financial help available?

Yes. The National Capital Area Council's First-Year Full Financial Support Program can cover fees for families with limited means. Cost should never keep a child out of Scouting — ask us and we'll help you apply.

How do we sign up?

Three steps: email admin@pack1125.org with your Scout's name, grade, and school; visit a Thursday meeting; then create an account at my.scouting.org and complete the youth application. We'll walk you through registration, dues, the handbook, and the uniform.

Which den will my Scout be in?

One den per grade: Lion (kindergarten), Tiger (1st), Wolf (2nd), Bear (3rd), Webelos (4th), and Arrow of Light (5th). Every new Scout starts with the Bobcat achievement.

What does my Scout need?

The Cub Scout uniform — Class A (field uniform) or Class B (pack tee) as designated for each activity — and the handbook for their rank, both available through the Scout Shop.

Do parents stay during meetings?

Yes. Cub Scouting is a family program, and per Scouting America requirements adults must remain on the premises during pack meetings. Lions and Tigers take part with an adult partner right alongside them.

Is Pack 1125 affiliated with a religion?

No. Pack 1125 is a secular pack, open to all families. We're chartered by Future Kings, Inc., a Dumfries-based nonprofit, and belong to NCAC's Prince William District.

How can I help as a parent?

We're filling leadership roles now — den leaders and committee members — and need adult volunteers to help run activities. No experience needed. Every adult leader completes Scouting America's Safeguarding Youth training. Email us and we'll find a role that fits your schedule.
