Practice, Play, and Good Company

Kendama, spin tops, and diabolo in Leeds. A free monthly meetup with loaners for all three.

Northside Skill Toys is a skill toy community for Leeds. We meet up to learn tricks, trade tips, and hang out with people who love to practice. Beginners, families, and competitors are all welcome.

Never tried it? Working on something hard? This is your crew. We bring loaner kendamas, spin tops, and diabolos to every meetup, so you don't need to bring anything. Someone will always help you land your first trick.

What We Do

Learn

New to it? Someone will show you your first trick. Stuck on a hard one? Someone's done it.

Play

Jam sessions, challenges, and games anyone can join. No experience needed.

Progress

Work through the trick list with people who've been there. Compete if you want to, or never. Up to you.

Try other people's gear, swap tips, and learn how to care for your kendamas, spin tops, and diabolos.

Keeping Meetups Safe

  • Kids are welcome. Younger kids need a parent or guardian with them. A parent or guardian is responsible for their own child at every meetup.
  • Club volunteers never take kids anywhere away from the group or the meetup space.
  • Give everyone room. Look around before a big trick, and check your gear before you play.
  • Kendama: swings and juggles need room. Check around you first, and replace a frayed string before it snaps and sends the tama flying.
  • Spin tops: throw toward the floor, never toward people, and only on a hard floor the venue says is okay. Mats protect floors from metal tips.
  • Diabolo: tosses go up, so toss only where the ceiling is high, away from lights, windows, and people. Look up before every toss.
