General

What is Desert Spin Tops?

Desert Spin Tops is a spin top club for Tucson, AZ. We bring together players of all ages, from first-timers to experienced players. Beginners, families, and competitors are all welcome.

Is there a membership fee?

Meetups are free.

Do I have to compete?

Not at all. Most people come to play, learn tricks, and have fun. Competing is up to you.

Meetups

When and where do you meet?

Every other Saturday, 10 AM – 12 PM. We meet at Mesa Branch Library, 450 W Mesa Rd, Tucson AZ. Come and go anytime during the meetup.

Do I need to RSVP?

No. Just show up. If a meetup is ever cancelled, we post it on this site and our social media as early as we can.

What should I bring?

Nothing. We bring loaner tops and string to every meetup, so you don't need to bring anything. Wear comfortable clothes you can move in.

Can kids come?

Yes! All ages are welcome. Younger kids should come with a parent or guardian, especially the first time.

Getting Started

Do I need to know how to play?

No. Total beginners are just as welcome as experienced players. We'll help you with your first throw.

What top should I buy?

Try a few loaners at a meetup first. A wide, low top with a rounded tip is easiest to learn on, and our members can recommend one for your budget.

What kind of floor do tops need?

A hard, smooth floor like wood, tile, or concrete. Carpet and grass stop most tops. We meet where the floor works, and we put down mats where the venue asks.

Getting Involved

How do I become a member?

Just come to a meetup. There's no sign-up. If you show up, you're part of the club.

Can I volunteer?

Yes, please. Email hello@example.org or talk to us at a meetup. We always need help setting up, greeting newcomers, and running activities.

Can my organization partner with the club?

Yes. We're open to venue partnerships, demos, workshops, and sponsorships. Email hello@example.org with your idea.
